Springfield Masonic Community Housing Options
The Springfield Masonic Community is home to more than 300 residents and features a variety of residential accommodation choices depending on residents’ desired lifestyle or care needs. In addition to two licensed assisted living residential care facilities with private and couples rooms, our community also consists of various independent living options, including patio homes, studio as well as one- and two-bedroom apartments in a secure, beautifully landscaped setting complemented by a variety of community and recreational amenities.
Assisted Living/Residential Care:
Hillman Manor and Bancroft Manor

Our two licensed residential care facilities, Bancroft Manor and Hillman Manor, offer private and couples rooms along with social gathering areas, eating areas, activities and dining facilities. You'll find friendly neighbors who share the same assisted living lifestyle and the time to do whatever you'd like.
Each private room in residential care is unfurnished, beautifully carpeted and waiting for your own furnishings and personal decorating touch. The residential care complex offers a spacious lounge and separate kitchenette area on each floor for use by residents. For our residents' convenience, there is an elevator as well as an outside ramp for easier access to the buildings. Residents may do their own laundry in the laundry room located on the first floor or have it done weekly by our laundry staff. Our underground walkway offers convenient access to all the main campus buildings with plenty of room for walkers and carts.
Independent Living:
The Apartments at Cunningham Place
Built originally as a children's home in 1928, the historic Cunningham Building was extensively restored, beautifully decorated and re–opened in 1998 as The Apartments at Cunningham Place. It is a unique, three–story, 41–unit apartment complex. Each unfurnished apartment is painted and carpeted. You add your personal touch and furnishings
We offer studio, one- and two–bedroom apartments with several different floor plans, ranging from 450 to 1250 square feet of living space. Each apartment has a fully equipped kitchen that includes an electric range, microwave oven, garbage disposal, frost&n-dash;free refrigerator and plenty of cupboard space. Laundry rooms and locked storage areas are conveniently located on each floor. This independent living apartment complex also offers lounge and reading areas as well as a spacious fellowship room for resident use. Independent Living:
Iredell Garden Apartments
Iredell Gardens is our newest independent living apartment complex. The three–story, 60–unit building offers a comfortable, secure lifestyle of either one–bedroom, 580–square–foot apartments, or two–bedroom, 800–square–foot apartments. Each features a full kitchen with GE appliances, spacious closets, wall–to–wall carpeting, individually controlled heating and air conditioning, either a patio or balcony, and a smoke detector/sprinkler. Every bathroom has an emergency response pull–cord. Each resident is given a personal response pendant to wear and keep near their bedside at night. The Gardens residents have access to The Community Center, its Dining Room, an Exercise Room and meeting areas via an enclose first-floor connector to The Apartments at Cunningham Place. Our underground walkway offers convenient access to all the main campus buildings.

Independent Living:
Masonic Square

Masonic Square is a rental community and lovely neighborhood of spacious garden villa homes with attached garages, two bedrooms and two bathrooms. You'll find well landcaped grounds with many flowers, wooded areas and rolling hills, is a comfortable, secure, relaxing setting. You will have the opportunity to become friends with other retirees who share your interest and desire for a carefree, worry-free, quality lifestyle. Here, you'll find the chance to pursue your passion.
You will live just minutes away from shopping, restaurants and entertainment in Springfield. Dayton, Columbus and Cincinnati are less than an hour's drive. Never worry about lawn care, snow removal or building repairs again.
Masonic Square Phase I opened in 1987. A total of 48 garden villa homes were built during the next six years. Each garden villa home in Phase I is 1,250 square feet with an attached garage. Masonic Square Phase II opened in 2000, featuring 1,400 square foot garden villa homes with Florida rooms. .
Each garden villa home is unfurnished with wall–to–wall carpeting, vinyl floor coverings and custom–made mini blinds. Kitchens are equipped with all–electric appliances. How you want to decorate your home is up to you.

Newer homes will have various floor plans to choose from, incuding a Florida Room and an enclosed patio option. Most of these garden villa homes will be in the range of 1,200 to just more than 1,400 square feet. Also, many of the newer homes have cathedral ceilings and bay windows.
Springfield Masonic Community offers several entry fee options for Masonic Square, including a 100% refundable entry fee option to lower your monthly service fee (rent). Because our entry fees and monthly service fees vary from year–to–year for the various phases of Masonic Square, we ask that you call our Marketing Office to receive up–to–date pricing information. The monthly service fee covers interior and exterior maintenance, snow removal, landscaping, lawn care and mowing, road maintenance, gas and electric service, water and sewer, trash removal, appliance repairs, 24–hour security, 24–hour emergency call system, basic cable TV service, property taxes and building insurance.
Skilled Nursing Care
Springfield Masonic Community residents have priority admission to the skilled nursing care facilities located on the Springfield campus. Masonic Health Care offers intermediate, dementia and respite care as well as physical therapy. The cost of nursing care is on a fee–for–service basis through private pay, Medicare and Medicaid.
