Springfield Masonic Community was privileged to have more than 2,000 visitors to the campus June 3-7 as it hosted The Moving Wall Vietnam Veterans Memori
al.
The Moving Wall is half size replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. and has the names of more than 58,000 who gave their lives for their country, and unaccounted for prisoners of war and missing in action.

Springfield Masonic Community staff had tried for a long time to have the wall on its campus, and when it was available staff spent many volunteer hours helping prepare for the Wall, putting it up and watching over it. The reactions from visitors made it more than worthwhile.
All Ohio Masonic Home campuses value the contributions of our veterans over the years and the Springfield campus has served residents clear back to those who fought in the Civil War. Having the Moving Wall on was a way of thanking those who served in Vietnam as well as their families and friends for their service.
It tied in with the dedication of Vietnam and Korean War monuments dedicated on Ohio Masonic Home Day on June 6.
