Masonic Health Care Overview
The Springfield campus has numerous buildings
for various health care services
and retirement living options.
The Ohio Masonic Home was originally built in 1892 to house Masons, widows and their children. In 1997 the Masonic fraternity decided to extend these services beyond the Masonic community to serve everyone in need of care.
Located on the beautiful Springfield campus, Masonic Health Care offers a complete range of health care services, from skilled and intermediate care to Pathways Center for Alzheimer's Care. Surrounded by an attentive team of health care professionals – including a full–time Medical Director, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, state tested nursing assistants and other supportive staff – residents receive the kind of helpful attention they need and deserve.
Our full–time Medical Director ensures that residents receive the quality health services they need at all times. Our team also includes an Assistant Medical Director and several other physicians specializing in internal medicine, family practice and/or geriatrics. Residents always have the right to choose their own physicians.
Continuity of care and convenience are our goals in offering on-site clinics, including podiatry, dentistry, audiology, rheumatology, orthopedic, optometry, ophthalmology, dermatology and cardiology.
Physical Therapy
Therapy services are available on–site by a professional and caring team. Physical Therapy involves strengthening, endurance, and mobility while Occupational Therapy assists with improving the activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing and eating. Speech Therapy can assist with communication skills, cognition and swallowing.
For spiritual support, we have a full–time chaplain and two part–time chaplains available to residents. Non–denominational worship services are offered each Sunday in our chapel.
Activities

We offer a wide variety of activities designed to encourage residents to be mentally and physically active. Small group activities, such as exercise, current events, pet visits and crafts take place each day on all Masonic Health Care units. Each resident's individuality and independent pursits are of primary importance and influence the type of activities scheduled. Large groups, holiday events and social activities are scheduled each month. In addition, one–to–one and supportive activities are provided for residents who are not able, or choose not to participate in, group activities.
