Reasons To Make A Gift
"By supporting our Endowment Fund, you're helping us provide financial assistance for residents in need."
Quality retirement and health care for those who need it, not just to those who can afford it. Over the years, we have helped virtually thousands of residents by providing some form of financial assistance. This "Benevolent Care" is made possible through caring financial gifts to the Endowment Fund.
Why Do We Have
Underfinanced Residents?
Some of our residents have simply outlived their own financial resources. Our goal is to continue meeting their needs for as long as they live.
Unexpectedly, some of our residents may require nursing care. Medicaid does not pay all of the cost of quality care, and we have to "make up" the difference in their health care costs.
In addition, because The Ohio Masonic Home is a charitable community, we provide some services that for-profit communities may not. These include a full-time Chaplain, regular worship services and spiritual consultation. These services are not covered by Medicaid.
How Much is Needed to Care
for Underfinanced Residents?
The specific amount of benevolent care required each year varies. The Ohio Masonic Home's budget need in 2002 was approximately $12,000,000 to care for close to 1,000 residents.
How Do We Raise the Needed Money?
Individuals, such as staff, residents, Masons, Masonic lodges, the various appendant bodies and other friends, provide support to the Enrichment Fund with tax-deductible contributions each year.
Annual Campaign
Our Annual Campaign provides friends of The Ohio Masonic Home the opportunity to make direct gifts of cash and/or personal property. Many people take this opportunity to honor the life or memory of a loved one with a special Commemorative Gift.
The One Grand Club
This membership organization is made up of individuals and lodges who support The Ohio Masonic Home with a minimum donation of $1,000 or more. This gift can be made at one time or spread over several years.
Planned Giving
The Rickly Society recognizes individuals who have made provisions for The Ohio Masonic Home in their will.
Our Planned Giving Program provides for life income gifts as a unique and lasting way of support. In addition to providing for a bequest to The Ohio Masonic Home in one's last will and testament, life income gifts can be used to provide needed income to the donor, while also benefiting The Ohio Masonic Home.
